At our recent Mass for the new school year the Principal Mr Noel Bullock addressed the congregation:

 “Fr Brian, Students, Staff and parishioners,

 I would first of all like to thank Fr Brian for the opportunity to address you as we give thanks as a school and community at the start of this new school year.

 The workings of a school are a mystery to many and from time to time we must set out our stall, as it were, so that parents and the public at large can appreciate and hopefully share the vision of our governors, staff and students.

 In Drumcree College we function as a community. We care passionately about our school and draw inspiration from each other in seeking to provide the highest standards of education for all in our charge.

 The college is not an island standing alone and apart from the local community. It should be an integral part of that community and mirrors the richness and diversity that characterises our area.

 We endeavour to encourage and promote partnership between staff, parents and students based upon mutual respect and understanding. Our aim is to offer our students the best possible education in an ethos that includes the gospel values of love, charity and respect.

 We as a Catholic school have an ethos that values diversity in school and we seek to ensure that every student has the opportunity to develop in a secure and caring community.

 I realise that I’m blessed with a staff and governors who are dedicated, committed and hardworking, who take pride in their college and who have the same passion as I have to succeed. It is important to us that the local community values and supports the Catholic ethos lived in the college to facilitate student achievement in all areas of school life.
